Last fall, we launched a process to hear from you, the members of the ICE Network, about how we could make the ICE Network more useful. Our feedback process included an in-person workshop with participants from all years of the 20/20 Catalysts Program and an online survey open to all members of the Network.
We got a lot of great feedback on what the ICE Network was already doing well (like showcasing and connecting Indigenous-led clean energy project) and how we could make it even better (like making it easier to see new content). We’ve been hard at work over the past several months acting on your input to improve the ICE Network so that it’s easier to navigate and more useful for you.
Today we are excited to launch the outcomes of this work! Here’s a breakdown of the key changes and new features we’re unveiling today:
One of the biggest pieces of feedback we heard was that it was sometimes hard to navigate, find posts, and interact with content. We worked to simplify the process by making the homepage a one-stop shop for all your key content. Now you’ll find 3 columns:
CoLabs are a cornerstone of the ICE Network. To make it easier for you to catch up on any CoLabs you missed (or re-watch any that you just loved!), we’ve pulled links to all their into a single page. You’ll also be able to see any upcoming CoLabs and leave suggestions for future CoLab topics and presenters! Check it out here.
Note: All the content for the CoLabs can also still be found in their respective Forums.
One of the things you said you liked the most about the ICE Network was hearing about Indigenous-led clean energy projects going on across Canada. To help make that even more prominent, we’ve set up the Indigenous Clean Energy Projects page where you can find a map of many of the projects across the Canada. Explore the map here.
Complementing the Indigenous Clean Energy Project page, we’ve pulled together a library of videos showcasing clean energy projects throughout the country. The videos are a great way to hear about the types of projects are being led by Indigenous communities, so grab some popcorn and settle in for a movie night! Check out the videos here and learn more about the library here.
Many Network members wished they could more easily share content from the ICE Network from with their broader networks. Well, now you can! Along the right-hand side of every page, you’ll find a suit of options that allow you to share content from the ICE Network to your social media accounts like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. (Psst…did you know you there’s also an easy way to share content from other websites into the ICE Network? Learn more about the Communifire Extension here.)
To help you out when you get stuck, we’ve expanded our Help and How-To-Support by creating a full suite of How-Tos for doing different things on the ICE Network. This includes creating articles, photo albums, opportunities, events, using the chat feature, and joining a Forums. Explore it here.
Don’t worry, our ICE Team will still be here to help if you need us, just post it to the wall of the Help & How-To Forum or shoot Ian Scholten a message in the chat 😉
We are always working on improving the ICE Network so that it can help you learn and get Indigenous-led clean energy projects done! We’ll continue rolling out changes over the coming months.
In the meantime, we hope you enjoy these changes!
P.S. - We always love to hear your feedback so if you have any comments, drop them in our Suggestion Box!
