StepUp's vision is a breakthrough in Canadian energy management performance by putting gender equality at the heart of Canada’s transition to a low carbon economy. Position Summary

As a member of the Board of Directors, the primary goals of this position are to:

  • Leverage your skillset, experience, and network to advance the vision and mission of StepUp
  • Contribute to one or more of the organization’s key areas of focus (Events, Member Outreach, Sponsorship, Finances, Communications)
  • Work with the Board to ensure continuously improving governance structure and processes
  • Maintain effective partnerships and communication with the energy management community, StepUp’s members and its stakeholders
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility, including generating and managing revenue and approving and monitoring annual budgets
  • Attend monthly board meetings, participate in the work of the Board between meetings, and arrive prepared for meetings

Desired Qualifications

We are recruiting up to 3 new Board members – we will be looking for each Director to have at least 2-3 of the qualifications below.

  • Passionate and committed to our vision/mission (prerequisite for all Board members)
  • Previous Board of Directors Experience, preferably a public corporate board
  • Fundraising experience
  • Financial expertise
  • Managing a membership base
  • Legal experience
  • Technology/IT/Cybersecurity experience
