Nunatsiavut Government seeking a Director to organize, assess, and manage the infrastructure needs of the region.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Under the direction of the Deputy Minister, the Director of Infrastructure and Planning is responsible for all aspects of public property
  • Oversees and Manages the Public Property Division
  • Develops and maintains an effective project development process and necessary policies for infrastructure projects
  • Development, purchasing, construction of office space and housing units, as required.
  • Coordinates Infrastructure Planning to address land acquisition and land development.
  • Ensures that new and renovated facilities meet Governments objectives for functionality, reliability, sustainability, maintainability and achievement of minimum life-cycle cost.
  • Develops and maintains a Nunatsiavut Infrastructure Plan.
  • Manage tendering process for new and existing infrastructure.
  • Liaise with third party contractors
  • Act as project manager for all major infrastructure projects.
  • Represent the NG on regional, provincial, national and Inuit Nunangat committees related to infrastructure, as required
  • Other related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A University degree in Engineering or minimum 5 years related work experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of capital planning and budgeting, infrastructure development.
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent Administrative Skills
  • Working knowledge of computers
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Be willing to travel extensively
  • ASSET: Inuttitut/English Bilingual
