Indigenous-Owned Solar Energy in Alberta

  • Stage: Available
  • Category: Collaboration

Hello ICE Community,

I am a student at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Treaty 6 territory. I am working in partnership with Enoch Cree Nation to conduct research on Indigenous-owned renewable energy projects in Alberta.

I am looking to connect with Indigenous Clean Energy leaders for a research interview to hear your perspective on energy transition; your successes, challenges, and motivations related to renewable energy projects; and the importance of community ownership. I am also working closely with a member of the Enoch Youth Council, so I would also be very interested to hear any insights on Indigenous climate leadership and the opportunities for youth.

The goal of this project is to generate and share new knowledge on the landscape of Indigenous-lead renewable projects and to support, in some small way, future leadership of Indigenous communities in the energy transition in Alberta. While this work is focused on the Alberta context, I would be very grateful to learn from others out of the province. Thank you to those of you who have already shared your insights with me!

Please get in touch with me if you would be interested in having a call or learning more about the project.

Many thanks,

Andrea Miller
