Job Summary and Requirements

This is a full-time, 2 year term position, working 75 hours bi-weekly until October 28, 2022.

The Energy branch delivers energy programs and projects, and leads the development of energy policies that enhance the environmental, economic and social sustainability of the territory. Our clients consist of Yukon citizens, other government departments, First Nations, municipalities and businesses.

Reporting to the Manager, Energy Programs, this position is responsible for assisting clients with the implementation of energy retrofit projects in their buildings.  This assistance will be focused on commercial and institutional buildings and will involve energy saving measure reviews, contract and project management, stakeholder engagement, and liaising between project partners and the energy branch incentive program, A primary focus will be on supporting implementation of projects in Yukon Communities.  The position also serves as an ambassador of our programs to Yukon, residents, businesses, municipalities, and First Nations.  Travel within Whitehorse and to Yukon Communities is expected.

Essential Qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the following qualifications.  Please note selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Experience analyzing, designing, or managing energy or mechanical systems within commercial/institutional buildings
  • Project management experience, including procurement and contract management. 
  • Project management experience directly related to implementing energy saving upgrades in commercial or institutional buildings will be an asset.
  • Experience dealing with a variety of client groups including the public, private sector businesses and First Nations to implement projects.
  • Experience developing, implementing or evaluating a range of energy efficiency (or demand side management) programs and/or renewable energy projects will be an asset.

Candidates who have a combination of education, training and experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.
