Hosted by Chris Henderson, Executive Director of ICE, with commentary from Søren Hermansen, Samsø Energy Academy, the webinar engaged three panellists from around the globe to discuss successes, barriers and areas of opportunity for Indigenous and community-led clean energy microgrid development.
Calvin Waquan, Fort Chipewyan, Canada, shared his insights and experiences from the Indigenous-led clean energy project in his community; Yíamar Rivera-Matos, Arizona State University, Tempe USA, illustrated her and the GEI Lab's work on clean energy project development in countries around the globe, specifically, in her home community in Puerto Rico; Henrik Micski from the Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Scotland, spoke to the impacts and challenges of community microgrid project development in island, coastal and remote areas.
